What is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapy helps to support an individual complete daily tasks which are meaningful, purposeful, and functional. For children, their main occupation is play! This is how a child learns social norms, academics, self care, and eventually how to work and be a member of society. Occupational therapy addresses the many complex areas of life with a holistic lens allowing use to support the child and family in many ways.

What makes stronger Roots Therapy unique?
At Stronger Roots Therapy, we strive to provide you and your family with a holistic approach. This means we look at the child's skills, environment, and family support to best address concerns. We aim to find the root cause of concerns by getting a full history of pregnancy, birth and infancy while also examining primitive reflexes for a comprehensive assessment of neurological development.
What is the Process?
Reach out! The first step is contacting us via phone, email, or social media. It is FREE to talk to us directly and determine if your child may benefit from occupational therapy.
Next, an evaluation will be completed. This consists of assessments, taking your child's medical history, and observing your child in play. OT is designed to be fun and engaging. A new play can be scary, but reassure your child that they are coming to OT to play and get support.
Once an evaluation is completed, a plan of care will be determined based on your child's needs. This can look like 1-2 sessions per week varying in length from 30 minutes to one hour. We work with you and your family to determine what is best!
Once your child has met goals and is thriving, you will be discharged from care. But don't worry, we are always a phone call away for any additional support that you may need. We love watching your child's journey, so don't be a stranger!
